Missing Fernando Torres, Liverpool struggled to create much in the opening 45 at Blackburn, Steven Gerrard having one of the few half-chances with a shot that deflected behind for a corner. Gerrard warmed Robinson’s hands with a low shot 10 minutes into the second half. David Ngog missed the chance of the match when the Frenchman managed to hit the bar from two yards out from Glen Johnson had superbly teed up the striker.
