Stamford Bridge came alive in the 26th minute when a fine cross by Ramires was met by a superb flying header from Didier Drogba that put Chelsea 1- up and sent Di Matteo into a spin. Chelsea drew level, 2-2 on aggregate, minutes into the second half when Blues captain John Terry bagged a super header from a Lampard corner. Chelsea had just a few minutes to savour their advantage as Gohkan Inler collected a high ball on his chest on the outside of the box, before drilled a sweet half-volley past Cech to the Italians back in the box seat. Chelsea clawed back into the tie in the 68th minute when Frank Lampard scored a penalty after Dossena had handled in the Napoli area. The match moved into extra time where, after Fernando Torres had missed a great chance, in the 105th minute a low Drogba cross was smashed home by Branislav Ivanovic to swing the momentum back in the Blues favour.
